The expected cost of movement was calculated based on the reported purchase price in the purchase order.
The moment we register the invoice, if we turn our attention to the movement of product, now we see that 0 as "Cost Amount (Expected)" and the appropriate value (according to the reported price on the invoice) as "cost amount (Real)."
Look further if billing is part of the purchase order, decreases the value of the expected cost * (the share of the amount already invoiced) and increases the value of the actual cost (the corresponding to the amount already invoiced).
There are movements that will not have a bill associated, as inventory adjustments or transfers between warehouses. What happens to these movements? Do stay with expected cost and will not ever have real cost? No no, in these cases, although there is no invoice, Navision and treats them as billed from the start. So it's just the opposite, these movements will always have real cost and never expected cost.
